The academic staff of the Jean Monnet Module Solidarity in European Union Law is happy to announce two SoEULaw lectures on “Social Rights and Solidarity in Europe“.

Social Rights and Solidarity in Europe – Prof. Elisabetta Catelani

The lectures will deal with Social Rights and Solidarity in EU law. Special attention will be given to the implementation of constitutional social rights, such as those related to labour. The migration flows for labour in EU will be analysed as a context for implementation of solidarity. The main issue of this course will therefore be to understand the role of solidarity in access to justice and justiciability throughout EU courts.

Elisabetta Catelani is Full Professor of Public Law (Constitutional Law) at the Law Department of the University of Pisa. She is a lecturer of the Doctorate in Legal Sciences at the University of Pisa and holds regularly lessons, both for the curriculum “Constitutional justice and fundamental rights”, and for “Public law and the economy”. She carried out various institutional activities within the University of Pisa, among others, she was president of the Scientific Commission from 2012 to 2014 and member of the Library commission from 2012 to 2015. Since 2015, she is President of the Committee of Statutory Guarantee of the Tuscany Region (Collegio di garanzia Statutaria della Regione Toscana). Until 2017, she was a Legal Advisor to the Minister of the Environment.
